About Christopher

I Make Complex Technology Clear
I started in cybersecurity in the Navy 30 years ago. Since then, I’ve worked across security, identity, SIEM, threat intelligence, observability, and AI—first as a practitioner and later as a product marketing leader.

Practitioner First
I didn’t start my career in marketing. I started by doing the work.
That experience taught me to respect technical buyers, ask better questions, and recognize when a message sounds good in a conference room but won’t survive a conversation with a practitioner or CISO.

Make the Complex Clear
Complex technology doesn’t need complicated messaging.
My job is to find the simple idea underneath the architecture, features, data, and terminology, then connect that idea to a problem customers recognize and an outcome they care about.
I’ve done that across SIEM, identity, threat intelligence, detection engineering, security operations, observability, and AI.

Challenge the Premise
Product marketing shouldn’t simply take what it’s given and make it sound better.
Sometimes the positioning is wrong. Sometimes the category doesn’t fit. Sometimes the product is solving a different problem than the company thinks it is. I’m willing to challenge those assumptions, because getting the story right starts with getting the strategy right.

Build the Strategy
I don’t think of product marketing as a collection of deliverables.
I identify the gap, develop the point of view, create the framework, align the organization around it, and then turn that strategy into launches, messaging, sales enablement, competitive programs, analyst conversations, campaigns, and customer stories.
The deliverables matter. The strategy connecting them matters more.

Get to the Decision
Security teams don’t need more data simply because we can give it to them. They don’t need more alerts, dashboards, AI, or automation without a reason. They need the right information, context, and intelligence to make better decisions faster.

That idea has become a consistent thread throughout my work: reduce friction, create clarity, and improve the speed and quality of the decision.

Practitioner. Clarifier. Challenger. Builder.

I help companies understand what they really have, why it matters, and how to turn it into a story the market understands.
